Fully Funding the Blueprint, Competitive Teacher Pay & CTE Expansion
As a member of the Senate Education, Energy, and Environment (EEE) Committee, champions state funding formulas for Calvert and regional schools, teacher retention, and career and technical education (CTE) pathways.
"Education is the foundation of opportunity. In the State Senate and on the Education, Energy, and Environment Committee, I am dedicated to fully funding our public schools, ensuring our teachers receive competitive compensation, and expanding career and technical education so every graduate is prepared for success."
Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge Replacement & Commuter Highway Upgrades
Prioritizes securing Maryland Department of Transportation capital funding to construct the new Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and ease traffic congestion on Route 2/4 and Route 5.
"Connecting Southern Maryland safely and efficiently is vital to our economy and families. Replacing the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and improving our major corridors like Route 2/4 and Route 5 are essential priorities that demand state capital investment."
Supporting Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Extension & Union Energy Workforce
Champions Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant as an irreplaceable source of carbon-free baseload energy and high-paying union jobs for Calvert County and the state grid.
"Calvert Cliffs is a cornerstone of Maryland's clean energy grid and an economic pillar for Southern Maryland, providing high-quality union jobs and reliable carbon-free electricity. We must safeguard nuclear baseload generation while holding data centers and energy developers to strict environmental and grid standards."
Mandating Rigorous Environmental, Aquifer & Grid Impact Reviews
Advocates strict Public Service Commission oversight and water table safeguards to protect Southern Maryland drinking water aquifers and electrical capacity from unchecked data center construction.
"Any data center proposals in our region must undergo rigorous public utility commission scrutiny and independent water table evaluations. We cannot allow high-demand tech facilities to compromise our drinking water aquifers or place unfair electrical rate burdens on local residents."
Investing in Core Community Priorities While Defending Middle-Class Affordability
Supports targeted state investments into local infrastructure and education while closing corporate tax loopholes and protecting middle-class families and small businesses from disproportionate tax burdens.
"Responsible fiscal governance means investing in our core community needs—schools, roads, and healthcare—while ensuring taxpayers get full value for every dollar and closing loopholes so working families aren't left carrying the burden."
Strengthening Law Enforcement Recruitment, First Responders & Veterans Support
A 10-year Navy veteran advocating for competitive state funding for first responder recruitment, behavioral health resources, and veterans' workforce transition programs.
"As a 10-year Navy veteran, supporting those who serve our country and our communities is personal to me. We must ensure our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and veterans have the resources, mental health care, and workforce transition support they have earned."
Official Campaign Priorities
- Southern Maryland Infrastructure & Thomas Johnson Bridge: Securing state capital funding to replace the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and upgrade Route 2/4 and Route 5 commuter bottlenecks
- Public Education & Blueprint Investment: Fully funding Maryland's Blueprint for our Future, competitive teacher salaries, and career and technical education (CTE) pathways
- Clean Energy & Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Baseload: Supporting Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant license renewals, union jobs, and clean carbon-free electricity while protecting local drinking aquifers
- Data Center & Utility Grid Protections: Requiring comprehensive environmental review, water sustainability studies, and public utility commission oversight before data center expansions
- Veterans & First Responder Support: Expanding state healthcare access, property tax exemptions, and career transition pathways for military veterans and first responders
