Public record positions, statements, and campaign positions.
Fighting Out-of-Control Taxes, Energy Inflation & Escalating Vehicle Fees
A leading fiscal conservative in Annapolis fighting to lower gas taxes and energy taxes, eliminate vehicle fee hikes, and keep Maryland families from being driven out of state.
"Annapolis is making living in Maryland unaffordable. They’re pushing policies that have caused electricity bills to skyrocket, car registration fees to be out-of-control and forced higher property taxes. It’s more important than ever that we have proven conservative leaders... fighting to make Maryland a more affordable place to live, work and raise a family."
Defending Local Zoning Sovereignty & Fighting Ratepayer Subsidies
Leading Republican voice in the House of Delegates fighting state-level attempts to strip Calvert County of its local zoning authority, and warning against state energy policies that pass data center grid expansion costs onto residential consumers.
"Annapolis cannot be allowed to override local Calvert County zoning to force data centers onto our communities. We will not allow corporate welfare and transmission lines that raise electric bills on Southern Maryland families."
Championing Nuclear Power as Maryland's True Clean Energy Anchor
Longstanding legislative champion advocating that Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant be treated as the foundation of Maryland's clean energy framework, defending the plant against onerous state regulations.
"Calvert Cliffs generates the vast majority of Maryland's clean electricity reliably 24/7/365. True environmental realism means recognizing and defending nuclear energy as the backbone of our power grid and our local economy."
Defending Parental Rights, Educational Freedom & Rejecting Unfunded Mandates
Fierce defender of parental rights in public education, opposing ideological indoctrination and top-down Annapolis mandates that strain county tax budgets.
"Mark Fisher is a fierce defender of your freedom and individual liberty, opposing ideological indoctrination in public schools and fighting top-down state mandates that drive up local taxes without showing real educational improvements."
Delivered Tax Relief for Veterans, First Responders & Senior Citizens
Sponsored and passed legislation providing state tax relief for military retirees, law enforcement and emergency personnel, and seniors living on fixed incomes in Calvert County.
"We have delivered tangible tax relief for veterans and first responders, passed an income tax credit for senior citizens, and eliminated personal property taxes for small, home-based businesses so our retirees and heroes can afford to stay in Maryland."
